Dear Watch Member, There have been several reports throughout the Borough recently of residents receiving phone calls from a company selling home security systems. Could you please bear in mind that such companies have been known to offer misleading advice and that police and Trading Standards advice is never to buy or sell from cold callers. Should you be thinking about purchasing such products you are advised to obtain three different quotes from three different reputable companies first. Any suspicious activity should be reported to the police immediately.

Dear Watch Member, Overnight between Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th January, there have been two thefts from cars in Salt village. In one incident, the vehicle had been left insecure and an Ipod was stolen from the boot and in the second incident a window was smashed and a computer bag was stolen. The resident had been woken by the car alarm at around 5.10am but the alarm stopped and the theft was not discovered until around 9am. Please warn your neighbours to be on their guard. To keep their vehicles secure and locked at all times and not to leave any property unattended in their vehicles. Please report anything suspicious to the police immediately.
